The Venue – Angel Orensanz Foundation – To Be Thrill S/S18
Fashionista’s formed a line anxiously awaiting the To Be Thrill S/S18 show beforehand, taking photo’s and chatting. Upon entrance, the venue, Angel Orensanz Foundation in NYC was dramatic with bold lights and an overlooking balcony. The historical synagogue provided a gothic, punk vibe perfect for the To Be Thrill show. I loved the dark atmosphere Art Hearts created in the venue.
To Be Thrill by Edison Lu S/S 18 – Womenswear
To Be Thrill by Edison Lu, was one of my favorites from the SS18 runway shows. The designs were monochromatic with mesh, see through, lace, fringe, and tulle details. The designer used a caged look on a few of the designs with deconstructed shapes and cuts. Each look had a different use of fabric with bows incorporated, creating a feminine/edgy look. The designs draped beautifully on the models as they cooly took center stage. They wore black and yellow bold cat eyes with voluminous hair. The focus stayed on the designs as every model wore the same pair of black boots to complete the ensembles. To Be Thrill S/S18 Menswear
Lu added in a few menswear looks before the finale to preview his line. Menswear consisted mostly of trouser shorts, and blazer embellished with emoji patches. The finale was my favorite, models lined the runway in order to give full view of each design.
What was your favorite look? Let me know in the comments! I’m still dreaming about these airy designs, they would fit well in my closet with their feminine, bold styles! Stay tuned for more runway reviews on AutumnWhewell.com
