When I first spotted loafer mules trending, I wasn’t sure what to think of them, they were a confusing concept for me – they’re fairly masculine, but super comfy looking. I came across this pair at Express and decided they were actually quite chic, contemporary, and would match the items in my closet perfectly. So I gave them a try, danced around in the 360 mirror a few times to make sure they were a good match, and yes – slip-on loafer mules are a definite MUST!
I cannot stop wearing these loafers. They are perfect for almost any outfit, especially when I have painful blisters from walking in heels for a minute too long. I chose to wear this pair (I found more at Marshall’s!) with my jeans and lace top to add a bit more sophistication, balancing the patched denim. Random fact: I have this weird fear of looking unpolished so I harmonize trends with classics together thoughtfully in order to avoid any sloppiness.

5 Tips for Styling Slip-On Loafer Mules
- Stick to neutral colors for a casual yet put-together look
- Switch up your pant lengths: try fitted shorts, cigarette pants, and full lengths
- Play with colors, patterns, and textures to create a statement piece with your loafers
- Don’t over think it, but do make use of a full length mirror
- Use them as an ‘a la mode’ Plan B for nights out!
I plan on wearing mine while traveling to New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and then Paris next month! The only downfall is if you need to walk quickly or are in a hurry, these will slow you down just a tad because they aren’t as form fitting as sneakers or flats. So if you’re planning on doing a lot of walking I would recommend sneakers.
What do you think? Will you be wearing any slip-on’s this fall? Let me know in the comments!
