The Gilded Hotel, Newport, RI – Review

The Gilded Hotel (of Lark Hotels) is located walking distance from nearly anywhere in Newport, surrounded by the water, boutiques, fine dining, local attractions, art museums, and so much more. The Gilded has been recently renovated into a luxurious, 17 bedroom boutique hotel which has a modern take on the Gilded Age. For those of you unfamiliar, the Gilded age was the 1870-1990 era, known for it’s lavish decor and rapid economic growth, this was the height of the Newport Rhode Island expansion. The Gilded boutique hotel draws inspiration from Rococo, Beaux Arts with extravagant furnishings, as well as bright, bold colors and playful use of patterns. Ornate mirrors, lacquered surfaces, and gold accents create a one of a kind boutique hotel full of life.

During my Newport stay I was welcomed to a glamorous King Deluxe room. The room was perfect size for myself with a large bathroom and plenty of space for relaxation after travel days. Breakfast was served every morning and consisted of a small plate spread with scrumptious fruits, baked goods, and a plethora of fresh ingredients. I can’t rave enough about their breakfast, it was certainly not the typical meal served at a hotel, but instead awakened the mine for a glorious day ahead. The breakfast area blossoms with sunshine in the morning offering deep, plum walls and dainty two person seating.

The guest lounge consisted of bright colors and patterns, which in my opinion, are a must see for everyone in town and total decor goals! The lounge itself certainly kept me entertained, I may even draw some inspiration from it on my next interior project. Bath amenities by Lather were supplied that held heavenly, soothing scents. Along with free wifi, an iPad is given to each room with a focus on Newport attractions, dining information, and more. Waffle kimono robes really added the perfect touch to a relaxing trip and made me feel so welcomed.

The Gilded at Newport also offers a secluded patio with lounging spaces and croquet practice green along with a billiards room featuring white lacquered and black velvet pool table.

The Gilded is perfect for a stay in Newport, especially if you’re looking for a luxurious, fun atmosphere. I highly recommend this pleasant boutique hotel. If the quirky decorations aren’t enough to reel you in – the Newport sights will be! Newport is one of the best New England towns to experience a different culture in. With plenty of newcomers and historical landmarks, Newport is a must see classic. #onalark
