I’m sure we all know by now that many trends come and go during each fashion season and year, some (fads) faster than others. Here are my top favorite for 2017 and least favorite for 2016.Β

2016 Least Favorite Trends

1. Athleisure: What is this? It’s formal athletic wear? It’s athletic wear you are allowed to wear out in the day and consider it acceptable? Ew. Take off your sweats and put on some real clothes if you want to be a part of society today. Did you know that Americans can be spotted easily in other countries because of their love of sweat pants?

2. Mom Jeans: These weren’t flattering in the 80’s and they aren’t flattering now. Especially if you have curves.

3. Rose Gold: I remember loving this trend back in 2015, I thought about rose gold hair before it became a ‘thing’ and had taken over the world. Now there’s rose gold phones, cars, fashion, hair, sneakers, nails, bags.. just STOP. Please.

Don’t even get me started on chokers for men.

2017 Most Favorite Trends

1.Deconstructed/Foldover Waists: I love this trend, it’s different and applies high waisted in a different manor. It will give your outfit a new dimension and truly flatter with a blouse tucked in to create that hour glass shape.

2.Sleeve slits: Definitely one of my all time favorites, sleeve slits offer a bit of skin without showing too much, similar to off the shoulder & cold shoulder. Sleeve slits elongate the arm and covers what you don’t want to show off!

Lacoste SS17

3.Pink: All over pink or even just a pop always puts me in a good mood, there’s something about the color that’s bright and pleasant. Plus who doesn’t love to look ultra feminine sometimes?

What trends will you be flaunting in 2017?

  1. I have to say I still love rose gold for accessories, I think a simple watch, bracelet, or necklace can add a unique vibe to a classic piece. I will agree with you when you say it’s an over saturated trend, rose gold hair is taking it a bit far. I do agree with your opinions on pink, I never really liked the color when I was younger but now it’s definitely beginning to grow on me.

    • Thank you! This post was very opinionated and based on what I personally enjoy, but high waisted jeans and pants in general can be hard to pull off when curvy! I haven’t figured out the trick yet.
