Shop This Bohemian Look
I’ve never been a huge fan of the bohemian style, it was too loose and free for me. Lately, I love it. It’s feminine, light, sexy, and flattering. The trick is to find the shape that works best for you. For me, I cannot wear cuts that are loose and wide off the chest or else I end up looking boxy and square. I have to find a cut that’s form fitting and goes in at the waist particularly. Over the years, I’ve learned to look my best I have to find garments that cinch at the waist or at least show it’s shape. This also creates the appearance of an hourglass figure.
– Details & Thoughts –
This dress in particular is by Avec Les Filles, meaning ‘with the girls’. I’ve recently become completely, overwhelmingly, obsessed with this brand. I came across it at Macy’s and swooned big time. The items are feminine, beyond chic, flattering, and contemporary. My style has become quite contemporary and chic as I’ve learned what fabrics work best with my style. Avec Les Filles is extraordinary and complete wardrobe goals.
The maxi dress I’m wearing in these photos is a maxi length with a flowing cut. The ruffles enhance the A-line shape by adding volume at the hips, thighs, and below. The side cut outs are also so flattering and show just enough skin without being over the top. The side cuts extend to the back so that it appears to be a crop top with a high waisted skirt. The deep v-neck provides the perfect opportunity to show off a lace bralette.
I’m not crazy about the print of this dress close up but the cut made up for it and I can’t stop wearing it. I’m a bit sad it’s becoming colder out, so I’ll just have to wear it while I can. But, I can totally picture myself wearing it under a long fur coat in the winter months.
