3 spectacular glass bottles are delivered every month. Obsessively selected by VINEBOX’s team of sommeliers. Furthermore, Vinebox offers patented technology and by-the- glass bottles. Also, this is not your standard monthly club; it’s a new way to wine.

Vineyard Partnerships:

These wines aren’t available at your local store. This is the stuff that you stumble across on a backroad trip through Tuscany, the gems that local restaurants save for a special occasion. Therefore, some of the renowned regions you will sample include Burgundy, Barolo, and Bordeaux. VINEBOX brings the stories behind each of the wines to you.

In conclusion, upon receiving the wine, it became evident that I was in for a treat. The modern, sophisticated box offers 3 samples, along with a detailed description and elegant quotes. Consequently, one of the cards I received mentions a saying by Patrick Rothfuss “I’ve waited a long time to show these flowers how pretty you are”. In addition to this, the card gives details including the age, original location, taste, pair, and a fun fact. I tried the Virvane Chablis first. The Chablis was curated in Burgundy, France. After trying a sampling, I came to the conclusion that Vinebox truly is heavenly. Most of all, I enjoy exploring unique different tastes each bottle offers. As a result, the monthly subscription service makes the perfect Holiday gift for your favorite foodie.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer | Autumn Whewell

At Ulta, I came across this product when I was in search of a full coverage foundation that wouldn’t slide around a few hours into the day. I normally favor a cream base, but was willing to give the liquid a try.

Shop This Makeup Look

I hated it at first because I was applying it with my hands, instead of a makeup brush. Once I tried the brush, and stopped using primer, I was in for a treat. This foundation in particular doesn’t require a primer, and actually does better without one, depending on skin type. I have fairly combination/oily skin so the liquid formula helps any AM dryness but doesn’t add to the PM oiliness. I tap the foundation onto my clean skin and use a foundation brush to apply and blend. This foundation can build, adding more coverage, depending on how much is needed.

After an even application, I use a loose powder with a powder puff. The puff works better than a brush because it forces the powder to sink into pores, instead of sitting on top of the skin. Using a powder puff also creates more of a matte finish. This was a total game changer for me, because I normally use a brush to add powder. Curving the puff onto my skin into of patting directly on top it also creates a smoother finish. This stops the makeup from rubbing away with the application as well. Once I’ve added a contour or blush, and eye makeup, I then set the foundation with my Urban Decay setting spray.

Shop Additional Front-Tie Tops

This trend kind of snuck up on me big time this year. I started seeing front-tie tops last year and earlier this year. The beginning of this trend I noticed was more towards tops that tied at the waist, cinching it in and creating more of an hourglass figure. The new way to wear it has been a tie at the chest. I’m absolutely loving this trend because it’s so flattering, and on many body types. With a sweetheart neckline, the front tie pulls the chest together, providing a lifting effect. It gave me amazing cleavage without showing too much skin. This style also automatically cinches the waist as it pulls the waist of the garment inwards. This dress in particular was perfect for my body type. I also love something that creates that ultimate hour glass figure. A-lines are a go-to for me as well because they give more of a flattering shape.

Styling The Front-Tie Trend

If you’re new to the front-tie trend I suggest starting with a dress because creating the rest of the ensemble is easier. All you have to add are accessories. I also love seeing front-tie tops (the waist and bust versions) paired with denim, skinny pants, wide-leg pants, and skirts. It gives such a pulled together, chic look. The fabric used for this trend tends to be of higher quality, or at least gives off that image.

Accessorizing According To The Season

With this outfit I added a multi colored blanket scarf for warmth and to give more of a fall vibe. The blanket scarf is worn as a shawl here, blending with the flowing dress. I wrapped it around in different ways, based on how harsh the wind was. Keeping a blanket scarf untied, as a shawl, creates more of an effortless look. Wearing the booties also made the dress more appropriate for chillier weather.

Have you tried the front-tie trend yet? Will you? Let me know in the comments!

Conscious Fashion | Only Buy What You Love

– Shop This Post –

Lately I’ve started spending less and focusing more on being responsible and conscious of what I buy.
When I lost a notable amount of weight, and looked at my entire closet full of clothes that didn’t fit, I realized something. I had no idea what I was going to do with all of the clothes. I could consign them, but that didn’t guarantee money back.  I could donate them to those less fortunate, which I have done often in the past. Suddenly, I realized I had wasted numerous paychecks on clothes that I only wore for a short period of time, for a quick confidence boost.

Quality Over Quantity

This led me to become more conscious about what I buy. Slowly I have stopped buying items on a whim, and really thinking about how often I will wear it, if it will last, and if the quality is decent. I began consciously thinking about fashion when I was working on my Bachelors in Marketing. Throughout my degree, I completed numerous papers about fast fashion, sustainability, fair trade, green, and vegan products. After hours of research, this taught me the true effect fast fashion has on our population, the environment, nature, the air we live in, and our overall health.

Conscious, Slow Fashion

I noticed as I would shop, looking for new clothes, I started thinking: How did making this piece of clothing affect the people who made it? How much were they paid to make this? Were animals harmed in the making? Will this item last more than a few wears and washes? This thought process caused me to buy less. Even though I was trying on clothes I would be thrilled to wear and show off. Something struck me that had never before. Fashion affects more than just the person wearing it. As this slowly became more common for me, I began focusing on buying clothes from brands that I knew would last me a full season, at the very least. I gravitated towards high quality, simple items that can be worn and paired frequently. I steered away from clothes that would go out of style the next season, and be mocked a few years down the road. During my last shopping extravaganza, I walked away from the mall with a new pair of jeans, 2 sweaters, and 1 long sleeve top. I was disgusted at my level of self control and maturity, but wildly proud of myself.

Love It, Or Leave It

The moral of the story is, focus on quality over quantity. If you absolutely love the items you are trying on, and cannot live without them in your wardrobe – buy them! If you picture yourself wearing the item over and over, confidently wearing it every time, then it’s meant to be yours. I don’t mean to guilt-trip those who love fashion – I love it as well – that’s why I consider myself a fashion blogger. What I want to put out into the universe and add to the fashion industry, is the importance of consciously thinking about the decisions we make. Items that sit in our closet, unworn, or worn a few times, will eventually go out of style, be added to the overfilling landfills, and pollute our air and environment. I’ve made the decision to think more clearly about who my buying habits effect.

In the outfit featured above, I ultimately decided not to purchase it, but I just might let it be a special treat one of these days. Consequently, when I put it on, the pink cuffs and bright pink trousers made my face light up with happiness. I had that magic ‘aha’ moment fashion has the power to provide us with from time to time. C’est la vie.
